So recently I put together a new build and everything seemed fine until I inserted one of my new sticks of RAM into the third DIMM slot (produces the error is the 4th slot as well). The computer is now stuck in a 4-5 second reboot cycle and never makes it to post (no beeps either). I've just breadboarded the system with the same results. The last thing I've tried is updating the BIOS, so I'm looking for a few more ideas before I give up and send the motherboard back to Amazon for replacement.

Yes, try update the BIOS, also the intel chipset driver from intel too. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775
If the RAM slot still has problem, that means it is the hardware problem, you need to RMA it.

Edit: make sure no bent pin on the cpu socket.

OP, update the BIOS and check if it works. I would personally just send it back to Amazon for a replacement.
