Hello forum members, i hope you can help with this slight issue i got here...
I bought a 1070 GTX OC 8gb GPU. current setup is:
Gigabyte X-58-A UD3
Intel I7 980X
Corsair Dominator 32gb ram kit, with fan cooler.
Corsair HX 850Watt PSU
the GPU is only 3 month old, and i had problems with it since day one, but it refers to a specific game... Arma 3.
im running the GPU currently on my LED smart tv with a HDMI cable, in both ends.
i can play Arma 3, but when i try to switch to windows, it doesnt work. if i try to press ctrl+ALT+delete, to taskmanager i get a black screen sometimes.
If i press escape i return to the game.
Ive noticed that when i switch, between windows and Arma 3 the screen pops up with a HDMI icon, on the upper left corner´, everytime i switch. i Get a quick black screen and then the HDMI icon pops up. its refreshing back to windows, and vers visa. i dont know if that is normal, but my old AMD 6970HD did not do that ???
after 2 months i have gotten a new issue.
the screen goes black, and it tells me that i have no signal. the only way to fix it, is to replug the HDMI cable to the GPU. Sometimes it doesnt work at all, and i have to wait, abit before i can plug it in again. last option is to reboot. Note that the gpu isnt runing hot.
when i am not playing arma 3, this issue does not occure. i took a test, and i can watch youtube vids for 11 hours straight, without getting a lost signal. ive even used the furmark, and everything runs fine.
i am currently upgrading my system bits by bits.
the slot is a pci xpress 2.0, where as the gpu is a 3.0. I know its not the optimal, but ill leave the decision to you. My concern is the blackscreen. im really afraid of, that i have gotten my hands on a faulty unit. currently im going to test, and see if it the same issue happends with other games
