troubleshooting steps for dead MB asrocks extreme6a/c

This is the second motherboard that failed, what are some troubleshooting steps before I RMA this board again. Board *will not* power up in any way (PSU is brand new and works fine).

Thanks Tradesman1 I read your guide several times, very useful. Unfortunately with only the two CPU connectors to the PSU this thing is dead. I will try the RAM game again, but it's a PIA as I have to remove and replace the heat sync each time. The DDR4-c1 failed on my first MB which is why I RMA'd it, I hope I didn't get a refurbished board with bad components. The next time I get a board, I'm going to power it up as you suggest w/o connecting to case/cables.etc.
