Starting a new build with new + re-used components
ASRock Z170M Extreme4
i5 6600
Corsair H60 AIO CPU cooler*
Corsair LPX DDR4 8GB x 2
2x Samsung 850 SSD, 1x Seagate 500gb*
EVGA GTX 980*
EVGA 850w PSU*
*re-used parts, removed in 100% working condition
Situation:
No display, no POST beep from this build. Fans spin, and case LED lights up. Mobo ethernet indicator lights up. Can power on, and force-shut-down with the case power button.
Tried:
First, read the stickied thread up top. Very helpful thanks
Then, removed GPU and connected to onboard video (via HDMI).
Disconnected, and reconnected 8-pin CPU cable
Removed h60 cooler, and made sure CPU was seated correctly. I didn't get a great look, but looked like the pins were intact (not bent) on the mobo. Will closely examine them tomorrow after work. I hand-tightened the cooler down, because I definitely did not want to overtighten.
Tried removing one stick of RAM. Put that in various RAM slots, and tried the next module. Still nothing. I even tried removing all of the RAM.
I'm suspecting a bad mobo or CPU. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
