True 3D on your Cellphone !?!

ATI just announced the new Imageon 2300 which will also have Mpeg 4 on chip decoder (finally!) so you can watch MP4 movies (or last night's TV program [daily show!]) on the way to work.

Not too much on the architecture or OGL support level or much of anything.

Hope it performs better than the last Imageon chip which did little to accelerate the Toshibas it came with.

With MASS shipments this quarter, the future is NOW. I expect them to be in new phones and PDAs by the summer.

Definitely something that I've been looking for. Considering that the i600/i700 only recently hit stores, I can wait a little longer for a better video enabled phone (preferably with built in Bluetooth AND SDIO, not one or the other). My current phone will do until then.

And anything that can play even Quake or NHL98 on my phone will be good enough for me.
