Like I said I've got 4GB of RAM and my problem with Windows 10 64bit was that it was always too sluggish, now for the first time I installed the 32 bit version and it's a lot faster, so is it a fact or am I just lucky somehow?

I believe that, the system overhead is cut in half, while it may limit certain features, I would imagine it would be faster no matter how much ram you have. That said, you're stuck with a 4 gb limit.
