Hello!
I need to add another fan to my little HP Elite 8200 SFF server build. I recently added a 3rd HDD and the HDD temps are too high (40-45C) at idle. I’ve just been cooling it with an external fan temporarily. The problem is, it’s very cramped inside and I don’t know where I can fit an extra fan. There is an extra fan header (CHFAN2) on the mobo, which is a 4 pin PWM fan header.

Basically it will support another internal fan, just not sure where I can mount it. Thanks.

Solution
There are not a lot of options..
You could remove optical drive and place fan there (probably small and loud one) or
you could drill a hole in side panel.

Hmm perhaps I could look into drilling the side of the case out adjacent to the hard drives and mounting an external fan. Or mount an external fan over the front of the case. The hard drives are already in the optical bay.
