Trying to build or buy a PC. what PC requirements should we have to record XBOX to twitch.tv or play games?

Trying to buy my son a new PC Tower. He says he wants to record XBOX playing to stream to Twitch.tv and play games like MInecraft and Borderland 2. What do I need? Of course expense is an issue however I want him to be able to do what he wants with the system.

If you would like to record and stream, you dont need to buy a new PC. To record Xbox games, you need is a Capture Card. Most capture cards need to be Close to the console and the PC, a good non-portable capture card is the Elgato Game Capture HD. There are Some Portable capture cards, like the AverMedia Live Gamer Portable.

If you want to record minecraft(if on pc) i suggest buying the software DxTory.

to livestream, i suggest using xsplit, and the Elgato Game Capture HD for xbox, and DxTory for PC games. as both of those items are compatable to xsplit.

you dont need to have a new as long as it came with windows 7 or 8.
