Hi so couple of years ago i had my friend build me a computer. Just recently i bought a HDMI cable to use it with my PC. Right now my computer is working by PC <--> VGA but i wan't it to be PC <--> HDMI cable. I'm not sure what the problem is but it won't work with the HDMI connected, only when the VGA cable is attached. I use a Samsung monitor S24C300 and i have a gtx650 TI with windows 7. I have tried 3 different HDMI cables so that isn't the problem. I have also tried manually switching to HDMI through the monitor but it's no good.

Any solutions or ideas??

Just to be thorough, both the VGA port and HDMI port in question are on your graphics card and not your motherboard, right? Also, have you made sure that your graphics drivers are up to date? Are you using a monitor with VGA and would like to start using HDMI to connect to that same monitor, or is the HDMI monitor different? Assuming it's a different monitor, are you sure it works at all? If so, are you sure it works specifically with HDMI? I don't mean whether or not it's supposed to work, just if it actually does. You don't happen to be using any display adapters of any kind, do you?

Yes for the first question. All drivers up to date and yes i'd like to start using HDMI with my monitor. Not sure about display adapters. Though the only way the display shows on my monitor is when the VGA cable is connected to a white object? (VGA to DVI looks like it). I've tried HDMI and VGA on it's own connected separately but only through VGA to this white object it shows
