Hi there I have a NZXT Phantom 820 I'm trying to hook just the cords that come with the case in to the motherboard I'm having a hard time seeing where almost anything goes in to my motherboard.

Motherboard: Acer M1939 IPISB-VR Gateway DX4860

is my motherboard not compatible or? This is first time build for me.

Dont have Manual for the motherboard came with a pre built...

I can see there is a front panel cluster of pins so it should have all the inputs etc. that you need. You might just need a magnifying glass or some good reading glasses to get down there and see each pin designation where it say "front panel" on the board. That is where you need to connect all the plugs from the case front panel. There will be pwr sw which is the power switch, reset switch, etc. and they will all be abbreviated. Very hard to find user manuals for prebuilt system motherboards as they are generally not available as builder components. I'll try to find one for you if possible.

Thanks so much so the one I was mainly unsure about was the USB 3.0 Header... Found out I dont have one do I'm going to go buy

tomorrow.

The only other cables Im really unsure of are where the pwr sw and what not the (2 pin connectors) go... all I see on the board is a place called BIOs and one called Front Panel.. do I just place em in there?

Also I seen to have a ton of Fan Connections... only connections on motherboard I see is 1 CPU fan connection and 1 case fan connection how do I make em all work?

Just make sure that board has a PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 slot otherwise you won't achieve USB 3.0 speeds using a PCIe 1.0 slot. They go on specific pins on the front panel cluster of pins. You have to get down and look closely at them. If you are unsure about how to connect them, don't. I'll try to find you a guide. Actually, there is an installation key printed on the board to the right of the cluster that tells you what goes where. At least on the images I'm seeing when I bring that board up on google images.

For the PCIe how do I tell if its 2.0 or 3.0.

PCI Express x1, PCI Express x16 is all it says for expansion

Doesn't say on the mother board and I dont really have the option of turning the computer on and running programs atm.

Yeah, no, I understand that. Sometimes it says right on the board near the slot. Anyhow, the larger slot is x16 and considering it'a DDR3 board and has HDMI, it's probably, not for sure, but probably, at least PCIe 2.0 which would still give you pretty good transfer speeds. Even if it was 1.0 it would still work and probably give you about double what the USB 2.0 speeds are.

Oh okay! Awesome. I'm going to go buy that expansion tomorrow plug all my fans in and what not and get it going! And I found what you were talking about the small print on the motherboard about the 2 pin connections! Thanks so much man you've really made my confidence about this build go to about 110% (first build) Lets hope it turns on and I didn't fry something.

It should be ok. As long as you get the right connectors on the right pins, it doesn't really matter whether + and - are switched between pins, as long as they are are on the correct pins. And they are usually almost always connected side by side the long way of the cluster rather than across the short way for each individual connector. It could be different on that board so go by the diagram but that's usually the case. Good luck and if you need help don't hesitate to ask.

All the diagram on the board said was (I used a magnifying glass like you said)

Front Panel HDR

HD LED ORANGE Pin: +1-3

PWS LED GREEN Pin: +2-4

RESET BLUE Pin: 5-7

PWR ON RED Pin: 6-8

The Pin set up looks like this

Front Panel
o o
o o
o o
o o

Not a clue what pin is +1 or -3 or any of that stuff.
