trying to decide whether to buy a prebuilt system or build my own gaming system

This site has a system that has pretty much everything I need and was looking for. The price between this and what I come up with in partpicker isn't huge. Any negatives?

That computer is actually a pretty good deal, especially with mouse and keyboard.

I would get that, but you will probably still save a few $100 by going homebuilt.

I think building your own is always a great idea however if the price is roughly the same get the prebuilt as there is a 3 year warranty with it.

The cost difference seems pretty marginal but wanted other opinions, but yeah the 3yr warranty appears to be the biggest selling point doesn't it.

Yes, they cut corners with their shoddy " Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready" PSU. Also they have a cheapo SSD.

They provide a three year warranty on labor, yet a one year warranty on parts.

Very true. I saw that no name PSU. The warranty is the biggest selling point but if you do get one prebuilt I would recommend changing the PSU out later on once you have the money. Other than that its completely your call.

Putting together the list right now on pcp just to see the difference in price. Found out the motherboard isn't sli or crossfire compatible since the second PCI lane runs at X4.

Thx. I had planned on expanding to an sli sometime next year. Wasn't aware the mobo wasn't sli compat. And yeah I saw that psu but they aren't too expensive to replace if you get them on sale. well guess I will be passing on this one and continue adding parts to my newegg cart.
