Okay, so I've had my custom-built computer since Aug. 2014. It worked like a charm, completely, no problems, until around late November.
The issue at hand is that whenever my computer is running anything graphics-intensive (i.e. Smite, Blade and Soul, ARK, or even multiple sources of streaming video), it shuts down out of nowhere. No warning, no failed drivers, just "boom" and it's turned off.
The strange thing is that I used to be able to do all these things and have no issue; this leads me to believe a part has simply gone wrong. Given that it's all of a sudden turning completely off, is it likely to be my power supply?
Another thing to note is that when my computer shuts off, it's often pretty warm to the touch around the rear (I've had it up to 75 degrees Celsius before). It has plenty of breathing room from each vent though, so I'm unsure.
That said, my fans work fine, and I haven't had any issues with graphics. So, could it be that the power supply is simply being spread too thin across the components?
(For reference, here's what I have:
2 4GB sticks of G.Skill RipjawsX RAM
FSP Micro ATX 450W 80plus Bronze PSU
GIGABYTE Ultra-Durable Motherboard Socket FM2+ F2A88XM-D3H
msi Afterburner AMD Radeon R7 265 graphics)
Thanks a ton for any help you can give me!
EDIT: Looking at my boxes again, the Radeon R7 265 recommends a minimum 500W power supply. Mine's 450W, and a few years old. Hope that helps!
