Hello everyone,

About a month ago, I decided to replace my N56VB's wifi adapter (went from a Centrino wireless-n 2230 to an advanced-n 6235). Everything went smoothly during the disassembling and assembling of the computer, except for the fact that I forgot to re-plug the screen cable. I disassembled again, plugged back the screen and put back together the machine. The screen was working fine until about a couple of hours later. It started showing black stripes (no lines being drawn vertically). I did the disassemble and assemble thing again but now the screen was looking reddish. Once again I replugged the screen cable but now I'm just getting a black screen, except for the fact that the backlight does turn on (it is obviously being powered). What do you think could be the problem? Unfortunately, the Asus Service Center from where I live isn't trustworthy at all, so I'm trying to avoid having to go there. Please help me community!

I forgot to mention, video output does work. I connected my computer to an external monitor (HDMI) and this is how I am working right now, but it will be a big problem if I have to take my computer out.

Hi,

There's a huge possibility that the ribbon cable has been damaged and replacing it would the the only option i'm afraid so. 🙁 You may want to check the port where the ribbon cable is connected to on the motherboard try cleaning it same goes on the port on the LCD itself. If all these will not work unfortunately replacing it would be the only option.
