Trying to fix tv

My TV has had this problem and I couldn't afford to repair. It goes back and forth from a black screen back to the input, how can I fix this, what's the problem. It's a Toshiba 50L 1400U

How do you get the screen back from black to image? I.e., tap or bump the TV, power off and on, flip the power switch, etc.?

Check for loose power connections and loose signal connections.

Even if the connections feel tight no harm in disconnecting and reconnecting. Could just be some misalignment.

Have you tried other inputs? Different source? Different cable?

It blinks non stop and I tried everything besides opening it up.
