Hi guys

Im trying to build a quiet, efficient small desktop computer for music production.

Ive come up with this build so far however Ive gone a bit over budget:

Can anyone give me some tips as to what I could do to this build to make it a bit cheaper. Or any suggestions on the config...

Thx guys

I think 1600 is the budget.

Regarding graphics card, I wasn't sure which one to choose just yet. I saw an asus which looked good but I need one that won't be too noisy ...

Also I'm pretty set on the processor

Thanks for the suggestions guys

The ssd looks like a good idea. I'll definitely incorporate that. Can I ask why did you change the heatsinks...are the ones you suggested quiet? Same for the power supply, I was told don't get anything below gold...?

Heatsink was changed because it's cheaper but still effective. OFC the DH15 is superior but you get what you pay for. A middle ground solution would be the DH14 imo

Power supplies - 'bronze gold platinum' I tend to ignore these. Ripple, inrush, capacity quality, +12v rail rating - these things matter. The EVGA B2 is a very solid unit :)

Thanks man

I'll probably look at changing Psu then aswell. I'm still quite undecided about which motherboard as this comp is for music production and video editing so I'm looking for one which has the lowest latency without being really really expensive .

Thanks guys

Can I ask why to or not to put a video card in? What effects does this have on the processor, the heat and noise of the comp and the positive or negatives of these two decisions...?

Thanks man

I understand that could be an issue as you would have something kore dedicated but what effect does this have on other components and the overall system?

You will have more RAM left to work with, since you have a dedicated GPU with its own VRAM. I think that is about it.
