Trying to hook a second sata drive for storage

Hello,
ive connected the new sata drive with sata 2 drive cable to the motherboard ,does it need to be connected to the master drive? and if so thers a 4 pin connector coming off the the sata plug from the master it wont connect signed confused please help

All sata drives are master, you connect the data cable to the motherboard and you connect the power cable to a spare sata power connector, if you don't have a spare sata one, you will need to get an adaptor for it.
