[SOLVED] Trying to install some new memory but it’s not working

So I recently bought 2 4gb sticks of ddr3 ram to put into my pc n the hope of giving it a total of 16gb because I already have a single stick of 8gb already present, so on my motherboard which is a H81 Asus Gaming Motherboard and on it I have four ram slots of which two are black (my original 8gb stick is already in one of the black slots) and two are grey so first off I put the two sticks into the two grey slots only to have the PC boot up and then turn off which it would continue to do until turned off, so then I put one 4gb stick in the second black one and then one in the grey one again same issue so this time I took out the stick in the grey slot so only the black slots remained and it booted fine with 12gb of installed ram, so after that I tested the 8gb in the grey slots and again the problem resurfaced so now I’m stuck with only one of my 4 go sticks in and one out, can someone help?

Memory is guaranteed in the form sold. Other combinations you decide to make have no guarantee to be compatible together. You are free to do your own compatibility testing with no guarantees.

The manual doesn't not show a 3 stick configuration in the chart.

Only 1, 2 and 4.

I think this is why.

I don't think you can use three sticks.

One, two or four.
