Hey all. I'm attempting to install Windows 7 on a new computer. The machine is set up fine (gives single POST beep) and allows me full access to the bios menus (which demonstrates the processor, mobo, video card, etc. are working). However, when I try to run my Windows 7 install disk (burnt to a DVD+R from an ISO I downloaded from Microsoft DreamSpark) inside the DVD drive of the computer, I only get a black screen followed by a screen saying 'Disk Read Error. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.' No matter how many times I do it I get the same error.
My motherboard has six SATA ports. Two of them are used by my hard drives, an SSD (which I will install the OS onto) and an HDD (which will act as storage). A third is used by my DVD drive. They are plugged into ports 0 and 1 (SSD/HDD) and port 5 (DVD). I also tried using a USB DVD drive, but it ran into the same problem.
Any advice that can be given on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
