My buddy has a budget of 1700$ with some wiggle room, he wants fan cooled & doesn't care as much about looks as he does functionality. He wants to play the average things like mmos, league of legends, gatcha games, etc. However he also wants the memory and power to be able to handle heavily modded skyrim & other games that become demanding when modded to a high extent. This is the build we are currently tossing around; is there any risk for bottlenecks here or are there better parts for the same or similar prices? Any help is super appreciated!

I don't see an SSD at all in the build.

I think that video card uses up to 200 watts?

I'd certainly try to get an SSD in there if at all possible.

Maybe by reducing the PSU a bit if the budget is very rigid.

You say 1700 max but your current parts add up to 1400. You don't have the extra 300 to spend?

Maybe your Skyrim modification requirements prohibit any changes to the PSU. I don't know. It's just rare to see a 1700 dollar PC with hard drives only.

b760 will save you money for a better cooler personally id go arctic freezer ii 280 min with a 13600kf
a xtx 6800xt speedster with its 16gb would provide longer life and way better performance at a few hundred dollars more !!

Yup the extra room was for the input of people like you whom do this more often than we do, thanks for your reply! It looks like someone else also mentioned the psu uses a lot of wattage. Also what does an ssd offer advantage wise to just an HD? I have no clue since ive always done very very budget builds.

Thanks again for replying!

I would recommend passing on the F skew and going ahead with a regular K.

Also might consider what storage needs are projected to be and consider whether a HDD will be impactful on the performance for the type of files residing there. IE, is it better to have all the storage on SSD, or perhaps a smaller SSD leaving room in budget for a HDD for bulk storage?

As others have mentioned, the AMD graphics cards seem to offer more performance to price at that point.
