Question Trying to monitor cpu temp but get different results

Hello.

I want to see the core temps while gaming, have used coretemp from alcpu.com and so far been good until today, tried a game on gamepass and suddently it reached 82c for a couple seconds when the game launched, then going to 75c during gameplay. This is with coretemp, i installed msi afterburner and the hwinfo to see the temp at screen while playing. Then i got like 55c in the same gamepass game.

This two different temp program showing average over 15-20c in difference.

So average is like 65c on re4 remake with core temp and 45-48c with the on display msi/hw program.

Who is accurate? And is it another temp program to recomend me instead of this two?

Hey there,

I'd suggest you use HWInfo, and run with sensors on.

It's the most accurate of them all, and gets regular updates. It's not unusual for 2 apps to be showing different values.

Hi. Yes i see.

I have taken a more look at it now and in game it show one and each cores in C: 53.53.56.55.62.65.57.62 but on top it is a own temperature monitor cpu that shows 71c.
What is the cpu temp 71 vs the 8 core temps?

Is it normal for my pc that the cpu reach up to 84c in the moment the game start and load, when im inside the game the temp goes down to 60-65c while i play. With hwinfo64 it reach 81c with Resident evil 4 remake but when the character is ready to move and i can play it drop to 60-65c and stay there.
Whats the Max high short time temperature the cpu can reach before we talking about taking damage from it?
