Ok, I'm pretty new at the whole overclocking thing and I've been doing a lot of research on how to do it.
System Stats:

Motherboard:eVGA 680i SLI 122-CK-NF68-AR
CPU:Core 2 Duo e6700 (2.66ghz Stock)
Ram😛atriot Extreme Performance DDR2 (PC6400) 1GB x 4 (4 total GB)
VGA:BFG 7950GT OC (Stock)
PCI:Audigy2 ZS
PSU:Antec HE500W
And I have 2 WD SATA's (160GB for boot and 250GB for data)

My full tower/fan setup and aftermarket Zalman 9700 cooler for my CPU is more than sufficient cooling.

Now to the good stuff... So far this is my setup:

My problem is I can't seem to bring my CPU any higher in clock speeds.. I want to achieve 3.4ghz if possible and have high expectations for this core.. It normally idles for 33c but right now its early morning and I've had the Arizona sun pounding on my room (it gets up to 90F in here early morning 🙁 ). Anyways, when I try to bring up my FSB to raise up my CPU clock it cant seem to stay stable. Do I need to increase the voltage more? Also, I could probably achieve tighter ratios on my RAM.. (I'm trying to keep the ram around 1000mhz).

I'm thinking I'm just not setting it up right as far as my FSB or it could possibly be my 500w power supply is just not sufficient at those levels.

What things did you disable in the bios? You may want to try putting your ram to "Linked" and "Synced" for added stability. If it is still not stable raise the vcore.

Try a 1:1 FSB to RAM ratio, it might be running a tad too fast. If you want to keep your memory running that fast, try adding 0.1 volts to it, but at this point, it would be better to do the first thing I suggested.

Ok, so I tried linking my mem to my FSB, I raised my FSB to 1333 and increased the V by .01 to my core just to make sure it wasnt a core issue. My response was window's didn't boot... infact my BIOS didn't even boot. I had to flash my bios to get it running again. Thankfully my ram survived along with all my hardware.
