I did some searching already and haven't found the exact problem that I'm dealing with. (specs below)
My laptop died with my thesis on it, and I'm trying to recover the data from the M.2 SSD (Samsung 970 EVO) on my new PC, whose motherboard is indeed compatible and has the most up to date UEFI. However, the UEFI is unable to detect the second drive (the one from my laptop) even after updating all drivers and the UEFI. I'm thinking of placing the laptop drive in the main M.2 slot to see if it's able to detect it, but I don't want to force any updates or do anything that might compromise the drive. I doubt it would, but I still want to make sure.
Therefore I'm curious if anyone has any ideas why it might be unable to detect my laptop's SSD in the second m.2 slot? Both my new desktop and the laptop were running legitimate, up to date versions of Windows 10, and both had updated BIOS (laptop) and UEFI (desktop). I don't think that the fact that my laptop has an intel CPU would have any issue with my desktop PC having an AMD CPU, right? I don't know what else I can do from this point.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
