Trying to remove old monitor data from Registry

Basically, i'm working my way through this tutorial to try and get my monitor working again.

However Im stuck on what to replace as my domain name and exact user name. where can i find these on Windows 10>

If your monitor doesn't work at all, registry data won't help. I've used hundreds of monitors over the years on my PC's and never scrubbed anything. That article is like 5 years old at that.

Ahh ok....The monitor is working fine, its just not recognising my pc through one of the hdmi ports. (The same port picks up my xbox just fine)

Your PC may be trying to push an incompatible resolution to the monitor and it just doesn't know what to do.
Determine the native resolution and color depth of your screen and make sure Windows is set to that.

Naa its not that, the monitor used to work fine in the past at its native res of 1080p. Just booted up one day and it wasn't recognising the display.
