Hi there, looking to buy this ram http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428 for my computer setup used mainly for gaming. Also i think the 6gb ram i have now is my bottleneck.

Here are my specs:
i5 2320
gtx 960
500w psu
Acer inc IPISB-VR motherboard REV 1.01 yes its a pre built computer from gateway that i no longer have support on besides the graphics.

Now i know about the crucial scanner and I know I have PC3 12800 ram, im just wondering if I have dual channel support or whatever im really not sure because the motherboard is rather old and I can't find anything on it. If this RAM doesn't work maybe you guys could suggest some ?

Thanks, all help is appreciated .

Solution
The RAM you are trying to fit on this motherboard its not compatible because its 1600MHz and your MOBO only supports 1333MHz as you can check in this link 😀

Every time that you want to check the compatibility of the RAM see the DDRX type and the speed (on MHz) that the motherboard supports

P.S: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231310&cm_re=ripjaws_1333-_-20-231-310-_-Product
This one will do the work
Good luck and hope I helped you

Thanks you sure did.

Another question, what does the PC3 mean ? When i scanned at crucial it only gave me results of PC3 12800 sticks when the ram you linked is PC3 10666

PC3 its like saying DDR3

Ok, so the only thing you have to keep in mind when buying ram, in terms of compatibility is the speed it runs at and how much your mother board can use in size and speed?

The things that you have to check its:

- Do my motherboard support DDR2(really really old), DDR3 or DDR4?
- If it supports DDR2, DDR3 or DDR4 then check the speed that you can use. This its normally on the motherboard specs that you can check on the official web page of the manufacturer.

Hope this serves you to something hehe
