Hi all,

I am trying to update the BIOS for my Gigabyte A55M-DS2 because I have been getting BSOD's constantly saying there was an interrupt in the internal clock or something. However, this is proving to be pretty tricky because Gigabyte has an awful site for trying to find/get the driver updates to work.

I went to this site http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3998#bios and tried to download the updated BIOS but it keeps telling me that I downloaded a 32-bit instead of 64 (which my Windows 7 is 64). Does anyone know a trustworthy location to get drivers for this boards BIOS other than directly from the manufacturer?

First off look at the rev of your mb. There a few rev of this mb and you don't want to put the wrong flash file on it. The default mb is rev 1.0 that you linked to. Most mb flash files if the mb has it inside the bios is a bios updater. All you meed is put the rom or cap file on a USB stick before you turn the pc on plug it it then go into the bios and flash it. If not you need to make a boot floppy or USB stick with a dos base flash utility.

I did....but I guess I just forgot that I did that haha. I was able to successfully update the BIOS using the flash utility. Thanks!

(sometimes all it takes is someone who hasn't been working on the issue for 2 hours to shed some light on something really obvious)
