Trying to upgrade from a 6th gen i5 to a 7th gen i7

Can I upgrade from a core i5-6500 to a core i7-7700k? I have an AsRock Super Alloy H110M-ITX/ac motherboard(http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-ITXac/). I want to make this upgrade because I made an upgrade from a 1080x1920 monitor to a 2560x1080 monitor. I have beefy enough components I just want to know if this upgrade is possible and easy to perform. Also since I'm not 100% sure, is it possible to upgrade to an i5-8600K (I doubt it).

Yes you can, both CPUs are 1151 socket. Might need a BIOS update though.

No, you can't update to the 8600K - for that you need a Intel 300 series board

No you cant go 8th gen, and there is also no point in getting a K chip on a non overclocking motherboard (unless you plan on upgrading later), the small clock speed bump over a standard 7700 is not worth the cost difference. Save your money and get a plain old 7700.

Eh, its. $20-40 difference and you get an additional 300mhz. Could be beneficial.
