I would like to upgrade my current (outdated) PC, I was thinking of upgrading my CPU in the first place, but I don't know which one would be compactible with my current motherboard etc. Currently I do not want to buy everything again so I would like to ask which components would be necessary to replace to work completely.

Specs:
Graphic card : Sapphire Radeon R7 260X
CPU: AMD FX-6300
Ram: 8GB DDR3
Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
Storage:931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-22BN5A0 ATA Device
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Sorry if I sound stupid, but I'm not expert in this topic.

Also that board seems to have some issues with fx 8300 series cpu's when there isn't direct airflow on the vrm.

The msi B450 Tomohawk is a goto board but any b450 board will do. Then also at least a 2x4gb kit of 2666mhz ram (preferably faster as ryzen needs faster ram to perform better).
