Trying to upgrade ram, pc doesn't boot

Solution
Does this board only have 2 RAM slots or 4?

If the PC is failing to boot with your known working RAM in a particular slot and you don't have other slots to fall back on, you can:

- Use canned air to blow any dusk out of the slot
- Use a lint free cloth and isoprobyl alcholol to manually clean the slot
- Try reinstalling the RAM into this not working slot a few times. Try pushing down harder on the stick.

If that doesn't help the slot/motherboard has an issue and may need replacement.

- Mixing and matching RAM is never recommended to work even if the frequencies on the RAM match. They must be in a kit to guarantee they will work. Is your older DIMM also a Corsair Vengeance 8GB at least?

- What speeds are the two sticks of RAM that you have in MHz? Your motherboard will only accept 1600MHz and 1333MHz without overclocking/downclocking.
