Trying to use USB 3.0 on new Dell Inspiron

I am using Dell Inspiron , and i bought a new Seagate Go Flex extrenal portable hard drive, but it's not detecting in my machine..Let me know what shall I do to fix this ?

Hi

Assuming its a USB external drive...its either a faulty drive (try it in any other machine)

or.... a faulty usb socket....(try it in another socket)
