Hi,

one doubt: If TS (Application Mode) and TS Licensing are installed in the
same machine, a DC, for 5 devices license the administrator is counted as 1
license?
I have 4 machines connected but when I try to connect the 5º I receive error
telling me that I need more license.

thanks

Luiz

Yes, as soon as you install TS in Application mode, all clients need
a TS CAL, also administrators.
You can check in TS Licensing Manager which devices are currently
holding a TS CAL, and when they will expire.

Hi Vera,
thank you for your response.
If I will intend to install a TS App Mode for 5 clients I have to acquire 6
CAL´s, is this correct?
So, do you not recommend a TS installation in a DC computer?
Can you tell me where I get some paper about TS restrictions?
Thank you very much and Happy Easter.

Luiz

No, 5 clients means you need 5 TS CALs. But count your own connection
as Administrator like any user connection.

Running TS on a DC is technically possible (so there are no real
restrictions), but it is not recommended for both security and
performance reasons.

The Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services Technology Center
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-
US;winsvr2003term

has links to most TS resources.
