TS Licensing Questions

Hi All,

My client has a 2003 Terminal Server and 2003 SBS Std Server. The terminal
server has issued temporary device CALS to users using the TS. 15 Device
CALS have been purchased and are waiting to be issued.

Some of the temporary licences have expired and I was expecting the licence
server to issue permanent licences from the pool.

This has not happened.

1. Why did it decide to issue temporary 'device' CALS when the servers
licensing was set up as Per User?
2. How do I tell the server to start issuing User CALS to expired temporary
licences?

Hope you can help.

Andrew

The type of license you purchased and installed determine in which
mode the Terminal Server must be.
If you bought and installed Per Device TS CALs, put the TS into "Per
Device" licensing mode.

My apologies, was late at night when I posted and I have just read what I
typed. Ooops. Take 2

The server is in Per User mode, the licences purchased and activated are Per
User licences. The temporary licences issued by the TS are Per Device.

It has also just dawned on me. I have been looking at the TS configuration
of the wrong server. The 2003 server (The TS) was configured in Per Device
mode. I have changed it and hope all will work as expected.

Regards,

Andrew
