TS weblogin through IE alternatives

Hello,
Let me start be saying I know nothing about TS.

At this point users of our TS use IE to connect to the TS weblogin and work
through their browsers. We want to explore the alternatives for this login
method because we're getting rid of IE in favor of other browsers/os.
We have, however, not found a single alternative browser that can cope with
the VBScript embedded in the TS weblogin page.
Is there any way to connect to a TS using:
1) The mozilla or mozilla-firefox browser on MS or Linux platforms
2) Any browser on MS or Linux platforms
3) A client on MS platforms
4) Maybe MS uses VNC[1] or VNC over SSL (or any other standard) to
provide TS so we can use normal clients to connect to the TS.
Sorry if my question is simple, I'm what you'd call a TS-newbie...

Thanks in advance,
Rutger Claes

Tough cookies, if you want to use Remote Desktop Web Connection, you're going
to have to use IE, AFAIK.

Citrix, Tarantella, Panther & Jetro probably support more browsers with
their web interfaces, but these are NOT free.

Patrick's covered it in a nutshell. Some more notes on specifics...

The TS Web Connection is a binary OCX that can be embedded in any ActiveX
container. IE supports ActiveX controls; no other browsers do.

See above. It's not the VBScript that's the problem, it's that the client is
a control. There is some kind of beta tool for making Mozilla variants
pseudo-hosts for controls, but it's not gotten extensive testing and I've
not heard much about it.

Hobsoft may be mentioned in the pages Patrick referenced; they produce a
Java client for TS that you might be able to use.

Yes. The Remote Desktop client. The full client is here:

TS is nothing like VNC. It already uses encrypted connections; you can use a
VPN or a remote SSH passthrough, but you can't directly use local SSH since
the TS client won't make loopback connections.

Asking is a good way to learn. :)
