What are the other players in the market doing? For example, there are articles elsewhere describing Intel's advanced packing efforts. What about other players. There are at least 6 of them, some of which do not manufacture semiconductors.

TSMC has a lead, most cuatomers, so money to burn even more to get advantages. But like every company, it can hit some wall and other competitors can find something that bounce themmback to the competition.
