If I run the aida64 stress test on the CPU without any power limitations, the system shuts down immediately. But with power limitation on 145watt, it gets VR thermal throttling after a few minutes.
I could lower the core voltage a bit to make the maximum tdp ~130-140 watt. But VR thermal throttling is still there. I could run the aida64 test with 1.35v but in rdr2 I got the blue screen after 1-2 hours.
I also set the VR control line to level 1 and the VR frequency to the minimum (250khz).
I removed the heatsink beside the cpu socket to make sure it makes the contact with the components and everything seemed ok. That heatsink gets too hot. I tried adding 2 small fans (4cm) there and it didn't help. Actually there is no place to add a bigger fan because of my cpu air cooler (deep cool ice blade pro v2.0)
I was thinking of adding some extra heatsinks to the VRM but tbh I don't know where exactly I should add the heatsinks.
I don't want to upgrade my motherboard for now.
Any suggestions?
