I have my Tuniq Tower 120 for about 3 weeks now, and the thermal paste is burned in I suppose... But, I still think my temps are a little high for this cooler. I started looking for the point where the lowest vCore possible was, and I ended up at about 0.99 volt. When the system is idle, the temp on the cpu is the same as my room temperture, but, when I raise the speed up to 2.8 GHz, with a vCore of 1.28 Volts (real, 1.3 in bios), my temps are over 36 degrees on the processor, but its only 24 degrees in the room here.. On load, it sometimes even passes 50 degrees.... So why do I ask it... Well, I have seen some results where they get the same load temps, but with 21 degrees, but with a clock speed of 3.4 GHz, and over 1.4 volts! So, than I concider my temps are pretty high... Is is possible that my IHS inst flat ore something, or did I apply'ed the thermal paste wrong*... I don't know... The Tuniq is mounted like it should be, an the screws are screwed on till they couldn't go any further...
The hardware I use is the folowing:
Intel E6400 (Stepping 6 B2, L628A368)
Tuniq Tower 120
Gigabyte P35-DS4
XFX GeForce 8800GTS 640 Mb
Antec P182 case *witch was open during testing, to be sure I came closest as possible to abient...
Thanks for your replies 😉
*I put a little 'ball' on the middle of the processor, en than mounted the Tuniq Tower right on top of it...So, it should be well spred between there.. (I did this with every heatsink I owned, and it was pretty effective every time I did this..)
