Turbo Boost

I have a DELL Studio XPS 435MT system.
I know DELL has locked my BIOS and disabled over clocking.
Does that mean that my processor wont goto turbo mode?

From what I can gather using google it appears that Turbo Boost was one of its features.

You can always test the theory by downloading CPUZ and see what it says when it's at idle and when you put it under full load.

I tried using CPU-Z . It is always at 2.66 GHz.

You need to put it under load to see if it raises the multi. Use prime 95 to stress test it.

I tried using Prime 95 and ran the stress test for 10 minutes.The clock speed in CPU-Z remained at 2660 MHz.

Well if that's the case Turbo is not on as it should kick in the moment it senses a load.

I'm not familiar with your particular product but you might carefully look around in the BIOS and make sure that it's enabled if it is there.

If turbo mode was enable, you would have saw 2793=21x133. You saw 2660= 20x 133 So no it is disable
