i recently bought the GA-Z270-HD3P (rev.1.0) motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270-HD3P-rev-10#kf). As i have seen, this motherboard has specific leds, indicating if XMP and CPU Turbo Boost is enabled. I have also seen this in many images on gigabyte's website. However, although i have turbo boost enabled, i can't seem to get the Turbo led on. I only have the XMP led.
I have also attached a picture off the leds. As you can see the XMP led is on but the turbo boost led is off, but i have turbo enabled in UEFI BIOS Settings.
I have also tried to enable/disable turbo in Bios, and also changed it to auto.
I have also tried to enable/disable ambient light.
I have also tried to enable/disable memory XMP.
None of the above worked for me. The Turbo led is still off, and i can't find a way to enable it.
I should also note that i have not installed any software from Gigabyte's site. I am using BIOS version F4. I have an Intel Core i5-7600K, that i see is working in turbo mode (4.2GHz) in windows 10 64bit.
I also tried to contact gigabyte, hoping they'd have a similar setup as mine to test, but with no luck. They just told me that they don't know if that behavior is normal, and that i should check with the local retailer. On another forum, they told me that gigabyte might be using their own boost performance technique that actually overrides intel's turbo boosts, and that's why i'm not seeing this led on. But i wasn't able to make that led come on, no matter what.
In most reviews i've seen, both XMP and Turbo leds are off... but there are not many reviews out there having a picture or video of the motherboard powered on.
Is it possible that the led is not working or is this behavior normal? The same leds are on many gigabyte boards, H170, Z170, H270, Z270... can somebody please check the turbo led and report back?
Thanks in advance
