So I recently received a Dell Poweredge T410 and I am trying to turn it into a nice gaming PC. I am relatively new to the hardware behind computers but what I do know is that I need a graphics card. I have searched around google trying to find info but haven’t been very lucky. So what I am asking here is if it’s possible to turn this server computer into a gaming rig, if so what I need to do and how, and what graphics card is the best possible one I can use. Thanks

Servers usually don't make for good gaming PCs. The specs list PCIEx8 slots. Your main obstacle will be the RAM - if you have to upgrade it, you'll have to buy expensive server-grade ECC memory. I also doubt that the PSU will lack the extra power connectors a modern GPU needs.

As for information - Dell support site is full of it. Just enter the service tag, and you'll get all the manuals you'll ever need.

It seems the pci-ex slot only outputs 25W, that's not 'gaming' level power. So you could add a videocard which requires less than 25W, there are plenty that fall in that category, but your gaming experience will be limited...very limited. No PUBG or GTA V with this system.

If you are going to buy a Xeon as the basis for a gaming computer, you should learn which Xeons are compatible with consumer motherboards. That way you'll be able to add standard gaming videocards. Alternatively, if you buy a pre-built like a Dell, buy the mini tower computers, not servers. Servers were sold for a very specific purpose which did not involve gaming, so they are not good candidates for a gaming makeover. Business mini tower computers like the Optiplex 390 and 790 use components which are adaptable to gaming.

(Sorry I am really new to this) So you are saying that the power needed to make higher end GPU's work is lacking and if I was able to find another motherboard that supports the Xeon processor and supplies enough power to the pci-ex slot it would work?
