Turn off C-states when gaming/OCing and turn on when idle

Hi there, I'm a bit new to PC's and stuff like that so I heard disabling the C-states improve performance but that's turning off power management, I obviously don't want a massive electricity bill by having the C-states off and CPU running high on idle, so after I finish gaming/OCing, would turning the C-states back on frequently let's say every day affect the PC and its parts? Is it safe? Will something happen to the CPU?

Thanks :)

You can just use the High Performance setting in Windows to accomplish the same thing. Easier than disabling everything in the BIOS, and re-enabling when you're done.

Edit: I should also probably mention that if you're using Skylake or Kaby Lake with Windows 10, the performance hit of leaving all the C-States enabled/not using High Performance is negligible because of Speed Shift. Skylake and Kaby Lake can Turbo up much more quickly because of that.

Thanks for the reply I might also mention I do have skylake, i7 6700k, another reason I want to disable the c-states is because my PSU makes a buzzing noise and a possible fix is also by disabling them, I'm not home to confirm and check at the moment though. Even if it doesn't fix it I will re enable it but I just want to know if disabling them will affect the PC in anyway in the long run. And I might turn on high setting as you mention instead of disabling the c-states.
