ok so i have an ocz vertex 3 60gb ssd.. i was reading that turning off the Hard disk can help it run better. I know how to do this ( power options edit plan settings) but my question is. will this affect my 500gb segate hdd that is running as my second storage drive?

thanks

To answer your question, you should leave the power option to High Performance and never turn off your SSD. Stherwise, there may be a performance decrease and TRIM/Garbage Collection won't be able to do its job by keeping your SSD optimized and functioning.

Your storage drive will simply remain in on (not spinning though) all the time when your computer is idle, so it will just use slightly more power when your computer is not in use.

Unless you are extremely energy conscious there is nothing to worry about.
