Hi, I've just updated my motherboard, cpu and ram because I thought those were causing this problem but after putting my pc back together the problem persists. I turn my pc on and then nothing happens, my monitors don't turn on and my keyboard doesn't turn on either. Could this be my power supply? I've just spent 500 pound on upgrading and might now need to spend another 100 pound haha.
Thanks guys

Solution
Your PSU should be providing plenty enough power. If its possible you could try to borrow a PSU from a friend and test it out in your system. Unless you got a dud CPU or RAM the PSU seems to be the only thing that could be the issue. If you still have your old components you could put it back together outside of your case and see if the PSU works with it. If all else fails you could buy a new PSU.
Hope this helps! :)
This is one way to check if the problem is with your power supply.
USE CAUTION HERE

Plug the power supply into the wall.
Find the big 24-ish pin connector that connects to the motherboard.
Connect the GREEN wire with the adjacent BLACK wire.
The power supply’s fan should start up. If it doesn’t then it’s dead.
If the fan starts up, then it could be the motherboard that’s dead. You can use a multimeter to check if there is power output from the power supply.
Hope this helps! :)

Hi thanks for the reply, don't think the psu is dead because I can hear it working and also the lights on my case power up, just wondering if it's more failing to power my hardware? Or maybe just it's too low wattage?

What is your PSU wattage and what are your CPU and GPU?

600w and have a ryzen 5 1600 and a Radeon r9 280x 3gb
