My laptop is turned off but AC plugged into wall, my external ssd plugged in via external connector to the laptops what it appears to be a ultra fast speed port slot, which looks like my iphone charging port. Quick google search says this is a thunderbolt port, yes, overrated garbage instead of something useful like normal type a usb port. Thank Intel for that. So, when is my laptop turned off, my ssd gets heated up overtime, I have to plug off the cable every single time so external ssd live a little longer.
Any ideas? Should I enable checkboxes on device manager "turn off this device to save power" under power managment related all ports? My laptop charging my ssd while it is off? And results in unneeded heat? Isnt that more likely result in disconnected drive in middle of something vital?
