Turning hdd from horizontal to vertical

Hello all. I have a one year old WD6400AAKS hard drive in great condition. It was mounted horizontally in my old case.
Would it impact the lifespan of the drive, if I mount it vertically in a new case?

No impact at all. You can mount a drive in any orientation at all; just don't change the orientation while it is running.

true.. you can mount it in any other position as long as the thing doesn't vibrate

You should be fine Mounting the HDD vertically. Just make sure the drive is secure.
