Turning off monitor kills stream recording

I use RarmaRadio to record folk music programs for my wife.

I just did a clean install of windows and re-installed RarmaRadio. The recordings work fine as long as I leave my monitor on. If I turn off the monitor, it kills the stream.

I just tested on my laptop - no problem when I close the laptop. I must have adjusted a windows setting earlier on my laptop. Not sure which.

I have gone to power settings and change everything I could find to "never."

What have I missed?

I did discover that if I have my sound set to the monitor, it crashes the RarmaRadio recording when the monitor is turned off. But if I have the sound set to headphones, and turn off the monitor, the recording continues.

So it is something to do with sending sound to the monitor when turned off.

Anyone know of a fix for this?
