Question Turning off secure allows me to use second drive?

so i installed a secondary SSD so im not using my laptops M.2 for game installs and at first the drive didnt show up, then i went into the BIOS and turned off secure boot now it sees it. why would i need to do this?

laptop is an Acer Aspire Nitro VN7 591G

Make and model secondary SSD?

Something about that secondary SSD's firmware was not trusted.

When you disabled secure boot then the SSD was then permitted to boot.

But other things may now be allowed that could be putting the laptop at risk.

I.e., configure the system to allow the secondary SDD without losing the benefits and security of Secure Boot.

secondary is a Kingston A400 480GB SSD

the SSD was seen in the BIOS but the OS couldnt see it until i turned off Secure Boot
