Question Turning off voice communication on FB messenger_does it work?

I need to disable voice communication (mic+camera) on my tablet or mobile and enable text chat only. With some special utility? Or in messenger settings? If it's even technically possible...

What specific tablet and mobile? Make & model?

Tablet being Windows OS?

If external then physically unplug. Use Device Manager and Task Manager to disable devices and related processes.

If internal then likewise disable and uninstall mic and camera drivers.

To be really sure: tape over the applicable camera lens, and likewise muffle the mic.
