Hey everyone,

So my aunt wishes me to turn her old routers into wireless range extenders because the whole house is not covered by our single Buffalo Router, which is an N wireless router.

First, I am wondering if this guide is enough: http://lifehacker.com/5563196/turn-your-old-router-into-a-range-boosting-wi-fi-repeater

Any helpful tips or instructions would be great because this is NOT my area of expertise.

Here are the two routers we need to convert:

1) (N Wireless Router) Belkin: Model No: F5D8233-4v3

2) (G Wireless Router) Motorola: Model: WR850G

Thank you all for the help. If any more information is needed, feel free to ask.

Unfortunately the Belkin router is not supported by DD-WRT, but the Motorola can have the new firmware installed.

When you install DD-WRT, be sure to follow the instructions to the letter in order to avoid "bricking" your router. It's not a difficult process, but does require good attention to detail.

Using the new firmware to turn the router into a repeater is relatively easy once the firmware is loaded.
