Hello

So i have been looking around the internet about usb powered headsets and I have found that some or most of them have a static problem due to the usb cable it self I have seen people say that plugging the usb into a phone charger as external power would stop the static but i have tried it and I still hear it when I try to record videos or when I am on skype so is there a fix for this ? do I need a sound card to fix this because i'm not sure how that would fix the problem if the usb is the problem right? and i'm open to getting a new headset but I really like the fact that i can hear myself when I wear this headset.(unless there is a headset that does the same thing)

Thank you in advance

Are you implying that you can hear what you speak into the microphone over the ears or you can hear your surroundings? If the latter then they are due tot the open ended design and if the former then it's due to a feature within OS that you can pick up what you're saying over the mic and this holds true for every other headset in the market.

Is it possible to pass on your full systems specs inclusive of your OS? It may be an issue with the OS not recognizing the drivers/device thus the static and since your headset is much akin to a hybrid format since you require the 3.5mm jacks for both the audio output and mic while the USB is used to power your amplifier. So this would also lead me to think that you're on Windows 10, running off a Realtek onboard audio solution and if so then bad news is that Realtek were one of the manufacturer's hit hard after Microsoft rolled out Windows 10. Its an issue found all over the www and the issue can be pointed towards the OS as well as the drivers by Realtek. Creative as well as Asus have been hit with equal measure but their dev's have since fixed the issue with revised drivers.

This will lead me to ask if you're drivers are up to date and if you've uninstalled and reinstalled your drivers post this issue.

Thirdly
do I need a sound card to fix this because i'm not sure how that would fix the problem if the usb is the problem right?
If you pick one of the sound cards that are compatible to run on Windows 10 then your best investment lies there but a dedicated sound card would be more than capable of running high end headsets so your headset would be technically rendered useless as the amp's duty would be overtaken by the "new" sound card. On the point about sound card, the USB connection is merely there to power your inline amp and nothing more unless it's stated somewhere that it offers virtual surround sound.

Pretty much based on the assumption that you're on Windows 10 + Realtek audio though.
