Turtle Beach X41 on Windows 7

I just got a Turtle Beach x41 headset and wanted to try it on my PC. I connected the USB and SPDIF cable to the headset receiver and to the motherboards SPDIF connector and I cannot seem to get any sound. I have the latest drivers for my onboard audio.

I am using Windows 7 and I have a Asrock Z77 Extreme4-M motherboard.

Any help in figuring this out would be appreciated.

Yea see I know that it should be working, but for some reason its not. I'm not a big audio person, normally as long as the sound is there its good enough for me. I mostly got this in a deal with an Xbox. I know it works because it worked fine with the xbox. Are there any settings you had to change to get the spdif to work?
