Tv and lap top problems

Hello,
I have connected my Del Insperon to my Sony Bravia by hdmi and have no picture or sound. My lap top works on my freinds Bravia and his lap top works on my tv. Please any help 4 days working on this problem.

Did you use the same cable for both tests? Have the right input on the TV selected? Try another HDMI input on the TV?
